Advice from My AutismTeam

Hi All

I have sought out advice from various sources as has my wife.  Today, since my son did get on the bus without and issue, I asked about his constipation issue and how it can affect him.  Here is an excerpt of one of the responses.

"There is nothing worse than feeling like your gut is going to explode! It wrecks concentration (if you have any to begin with! and I'm challenged that way) & just makes you feel miserable. So I would say that somedays that's a big ole YES!
Probiotics, prebiotics are a must!"

  1. Yogurt can be a big help there, probably even the frozen yogurt that is like ice cream. Since we're beginning the summer season, I would suggest fresh peaches, if he will eat them. They don't taste like the canned kind and can be very effective.

  2. Sorry to hear that you are all having such a hard time lately!!

Have you tried MiraLax? Our younger son has issues with constipation and has taken it daily for years. Dissolves in any beverage.

  3. Actually, yes Audrey; We use that religiously. He didn't go to school yesterday, but he did the day before.
